President Obama announced this week that his campaign has taken control of his popular Twitter account and that he will personally tweet from the account.

The campaign website announced Friday, “We’ll be asking for your feedback and ideas, updating you on ways to get involved, sharing the best stories that cross our desks, and maybe even retweeting you every now and again.”

Tweets from the President will now be signed “-BO.”

Sacramento-based social media expert Robert Velarde says a more personal account leads to more personal interaction.

“The more comfortable they can get with people and talk with them, the…more driven results they’re going to have,” said Velarde.
